The business and professional women of the Staten Island chapter of NYS Women awarded two local women with academic scholarships.

The Staten Island chapter of NYS Women presented $2000 to the Staten Island Residence of Good Counsel Homes, Inc. This program provides invaluable intervention for hundreds of pregnant young women and single parents.

Carol Golyski, a member of Grand Island Professional Women’s Chapter, New York State Women, has been selected the winner of the 10th Annual Womens Exemplary Leadership Award, which was presented Wednesday evening (June 22) at a dinner in Elldins, River Oaks, Grand Island.

At conference, we had a member's celebration during Friday night's dinner. President Renee gave her farewell message, stating its our turn to be the teachers/mentors as so many have done for us.

This year's General Election provides us with the opportunity to make changes that will advance our legislative priorities, or impede them. In addition to the presidency, the American people also will have the opportunity to vote for every member of the House of Representatives.

The Staten Island chapter of New York State Women Inc. presented the Harbor Lights Theater Company program with a $2,000 check to enhance their efforts to bring Broadway level productions to the Island and to provide opportunities for thriving local artists.

On May 17, 2016, Kathy Stagg presented the Westchester Chapter 2016 scholarship award to Madison Sacramone at the May dinner meeting at which Madison and her father, Steven, were the honored guests. The award is for $1000, along with a student membership to NYSW, Inc.

Professional Business Women of Rome, in partnership with the Rome Chamber of Commerce, co- hosted the 22nd Congressional District primary political forum. The event was held in the morning of May 11th at the Beeches Restaurant in Rome. Candidates spoke and were asked questions from students of our local high school along with area Community leaders.

The CNY Chapter is offering (1) $500.00 grant to an adult women residing in Oswego, Madison and/or Onondaga County in financial need who is returning to school as a result of the recent recession, corporate downsizing or a change in family structure (i.e. separation, divorce or death) to specifically pursue an education in the medical and/or health sciences field. 

The Richmond County Chapter of New York State Women, Inc. is pleased to announce the winner of the NYSW RC Chapter’s Women in History Essay Contest, Shaunte Colbert,for her essay on Ella Baker.
