Youth Leadership Conference Hosted by Lake to Lake Women

Region VII chapters, Lake to Lake Women, assisted by Yates County Women recently hosted a Youth Leadership Conference with a Reality Store® component.  On March 5th, 15 girls from several area schools came together in Waterloo for a day of learning and camaraderie.

Capital Region Women's Network Presents Reality Store Program

Capital Region Women’s Network (CRWN) partnered with Girls Inc. to offer the Reality Store program on September 29, 2015 at the Girls Inc. Schenectady location, with 14 youth participating. Girls Inc. runs a vibrant after school program for Schenectady area youth that draws from Schenectady and the surrounding communities. 

NYS Women- Staten Island to present Women of Distinction Awards to Margaret Barry and Geraldine Walters Smith

The Staten Island chapter of New York State Women will honor their longest standing members Margaret Barry and Geraldine Walters Smith with their Lifetime Distinction Award. Margaret served the organization for 53years; Geraldine for 52 years.

Seven outstanding women will join Ms. Barry and Ms. Walters-Smith at the ceremony and luncheon on Saturday, April 2, 2016, noon, LiGreci’s Staaten, 697 Forest Avenue, and Staten Island. 

Grand Island Chapter presents scholarship to Amy Gilmore Smith

President Diane Dinsmore said that a new scholarship that the Grand Island Professional Women’s Chapter will award each year will be to an adult woman from Grand Island who is either returning to college, a trade school or continuing education.

Niagara Frontier Chapter Awards 4 Scholarships

The Niagara Frontier Chapter awarded scholarships to Jennifer Bognar, Jennifer Lipiarz, Tara Petty, and Lisa Zeames on June 23, 2015.

 

Grand Island Chapter presents Women’s Effective Leadership Award for Women in Business

Terry Collins, president of Maroon Technology Ltd. of Grand Island, will receive the Annual Women’s Effective Leadership Award for Women in Business at the June 24 meeting of the Grand Island Professional Women’s Chapter, New York State Women, Inc. at Elldins at River Oaks, Grand Island.

Glenda Gephart of the Elmira Star-Gazette was named the 2014 Woman of the Year by the Southern Finger Lakes Women at their October meeting.

Every year, the Westchester Chapter of NYSW, INC. has presented a $1000 scholarship award to a Westchester woman graduating high school, to help defray the cost of college.
