On June 8, 2013, Amy Kellogg, a partner with Harter, Seacrest and Emery, was installed as President of New York State Women Inc. (NYSW, Inc.). Ms. Kellogg is a member of the Tech Valley Chapter of NYSW, Inc. The installation took place at the organization's 4th annual conference in Albany, New York.

A tremendous thank you to everyone who participated in the 25th Anniversary Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund (GLEF) Awards Luncheon on June 8th at the New York State Women, Inc. Annual Conference and to everyone who donated throughout the year.

Congratulations to our award recipients that were recognized at June Conference.  This year, we created three new categories of awards as follows: Youth Leadership /Programming/Advocacy

The Career Recognition Speakoff Competition was held on Saturday June 8, 2013. We had two amazing candidates give a 5 minute speech on the topic of empowering women.

New York State Women, Inc. fully supports the Women’s Equality Agenda! We have been supporting it for decades, as all of the items on the Women’s Equality Agenda are applicable to the Legislative Platform that we have been supporting for many years.

Sara Josephine Baker was born in 1873 in Poughkeepsie, New York, to Daniel Mosher Baker and Jenny Harwood Brown.  Josephine was just 16 when her father and brother died in a typhoid fever epidemic.  It was this event that made Josephine decide to give up a scholarship to Vassar College and go to medical school to become a physician.

Late last week, the House of Representatives blocked a vote on the Paycheck Fairness Act. This was a blow to all of us who have worked so hard on policies to help close the wage gap.

Owego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Women of different backgrounds and experiences gathered Wednesday to honor the achievements of one another.Some of this year's award recipients include the past president of the Binghamton chapter of New York State Women, and a Vestal High School student who volunteers at Lourdes Hospital and in after school programs.

Chapter Awards as Nominated by the Region – For these awards, the Region Director and/or Assistant Region Director will nominate a chapter, or chapters, in their Region.
