The 2012-2013 NYS Women Inc Executive Committee was elected on Saturday June 2nd. President - Sue Mager (Buffalo Niagara), President Elect - Amy Kellogg (Tech Valley), 1st Vice President - Colleen Ostiguy (Tech Valley), 2nd Vice President - Renee Cerullo (Buffalo Niagara), Secretary - Kim Nowakowski (Western Suffolk), and Treasurer - Mary Stelley (Lakeshore).

The New Careerist and Career Recognition Competitions took place on Saturday June 2nd at the NYS Women Conference. We had one New Careerist and 3 Career Recognition candidates.

The NY Grace LeGendre Endowment Fund awarded a scholarships to 4 awardees at the NYS Women Inc State Conference during a luncheon on Saturday June 2nd. These were a group of amazing women making a difference in NYS. These were a group of amazing women making a difference in NYS.

The ultimate goal of most representative groups is effective advocacy. What does this mean, you ask? Well, the word advocacy is generally defined as “the act of pleading or arguing in favor of something, such as a cause, idea or policy; providing earnest and active support.”

For National Women’s Health Week, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration's Office of Women's Health created the Healthy Women's Action Kit.

Annual State Conference is June 1-3rd in Albany NY. Our Keynote speaker will be Deb Cabral. Professional Organizer and Productivity & Efficiency Coach Deborah J. Cabral is President and Owner of The DeClutter Coach and DC Efficiency Consulting. The DeClutter Coach, a residential organizing company was established in 2010. In January of this year, Deb kicked off a new company, DC Efficiency Consulting with expanded services for her growing base of corporate clients.  Register for the Conference

Our June Conference will be held on June 1-3, 2012, at the Hampton Inn & Suites, Albany, NY. Hope you have registered. District X is hosting, with some local and familiar assistance. We will elect a new slate of officers and welcome a new Board of Directors, as well as Committee Chairs. There is more evolutionary (perhaps revolutionary) work to be done with your input and support. Make your voice heard and make a difference.

April is Sexual assault Awareness Month

We are asking the community to join DVRC in  recognizing Denim Day to support sexual assault survivors and take a peaceful stand against sexual violence. Denim Day is Friday April 27th.
