Southern Finger Lakes Women - Sale of Maple Products Scholarship Fundraiser

The chapter conducted a sale of maple products as another fundraiser on behalf of the scholarship fund. The sale was organized by Sally Rigden, chapter treasurer.

Election of officers for the 2016-2017 term was held at the May meeting. Installation of the officers was conducted at this meeting, which was held at the Marmalade Cat Bed and Breakfast in Watkins Glen, NY. Installation ceremonies were conducted by Mary Ellen Morgan and Judy Phillips. The officers are Mary Ellen Morgan, President, Lisa Rhoads, Vice President, Karen Stewart, Secretary, Sally Rigden, Treasurer, and Margaret Jensen, Parliamentarian.

The chapter held its annual scholarship awards picnic in June at the Montour Falls Moose Lodge. At this time, the winner of the Woman of the Year award was also announced.

The scholarship was awarded to Cheyenne Stansfield, a senior at Watkins Glen High School. Pictured left to right: Sally Rigden, SFLW Scholarship Chair, Cheyenne Stansfield, 2016 scholarship winner.

Sally Rigden (see photo) was honored as the 2016 Woman of the Year. She currently serves as SFLW Treasurer and chairs the Scholarship Committee.
