NYSW - Buffalo Niagara Chapter - March Meeting - "Family Help Center"

Author: Communications Committee/Monday, February 6, 2023/Categories: Chapter Events

Event date: 3/1/2023 5:30 PM - 8:00 PM Export event

Please join us for our March meeting where our speaker, Kate Joyce, Executive Director of The Family Help Center, will present to us the history and good works the center provides to the WNY community.

Since 1973, the Family Help Center provides services to families raising children and gives the support you can't always get from family, neighbors, or even parents. It is a multi-service agency, providing in-home support services to all of Erie County, as well as a New York State licensed childcare facility, Family Help Center Daycare.

As a nonprofit agency, they operate the only 24-hour, 365 day a year family crisis intervention and support service in Erie County. They offer immediate assistance with no application procedures, no eligibility requirements and no waiting period.

The Family Help Center is a “home away from home” for many children and parents. The Center offers a comfortable and nurturing environment for group interaction, child care programming, parent training sessions, family socials and a variety of other functions. They are dedicated to the prevention and interruption of child abuse and neglect in all of its forms — physical, emotional and sexual. Because the maltreatment of children transcends class, gender, race, ethnic and religious backgrounds, there are no eligibility requirements. To ensure the safety of every child, families are never charged a fee for any services they provide, with the exception of our Childcare Center.
