When making a purchasing decision, do YOU think about the policy of that corporation towards its female employees?  Or its attitude and advertising aimed at its women customers?  What are its policies on maternal leave, mentorship for women, healthcare benefits, and promotions?  Does the company have a glass ceiling or are there women at its highest levels of management or – think of it! – a female CEO?

In Western New York the Erie County Commission on the Status of Women has started an initiative that encourages local employers to create women-friendly policies that will ultimately help lift our entire community.

King, PhD, and Dr. Kimberly DeSimone, assistant professor at the Jandoli School of Communications, St. Bonaventure School as they discuss how women can create change.
